Marie Patrice G. Ipaud was born in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire in 1981. Since childhood, she has always been drawn to the never-ending story-telling world, reading books and watching as many movies as she could. In 1999, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia for her college education and saw in filmmaking an excellent tool to contribute to forge mentalities and motivate entire African generations. Fond of animation, she opted for 3D modeling and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Animation from the Arts Institute of Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. She also studied and graduated from LA Film School in Los Angeles, California. There, she wrote, produced and directed her critically acclaimed short film, Meg’s Rings in 2009. Back in her home country, Cote d’Ivoire, she founded her production company, MAREEP ENTERTAINMENT.
In 2010 she produced a TV show for children, Wali et Ses Amis. She relocated to Ghana in 2011, and since then, has written, directed, produced and assisted in a range of projects, including short movies, educational TV Programs, Mini-Series and Feature Movies for TV networks, notably DSTV, both in Ghana and Nigeria.
